Been a packed couple weeks with a mini camp in Florida with @jdbeach95 and @dallasdaniels32 , while the kids were holding it down on the pedal bikes out west!
Congrats to @braydenkerr11 and @daisy.graesser taking wins, with @donovanwey on the pode and @kierabennett throwing in solid rides as of late in their local school league.

Some things you just can’t teach. So glad JD “walked” away from this get off last weekend but even more impressive was his awareness that every point counts in a title chase. Take notes 📝, this is what grit looks like. This is why we spend all those countless hours preparing with strength and mobility work.
First bike tournament in the books last Saturday. Always good to grab the W🥇 when you can. The high pressure environment of masters cross country racing and big contracts always adds to the pressure to deliver for the team owner. Also got lucky and snuck in the 3 laps before the skies opened up, so was still able to hit all the big rhythm lane combos even with all the lappers. Definitely looking forward to fine tuning the fitness and equipment before the season starts proper.

Wrapped up the Filthy 50 with P7 in the open category. I looked almost factory with a one off kit from Team Baghouse to go along with my freshly painted late 80’s/early 90’s MX inspired lid from Greg @ Santa Cruz Concepts. It’s a blend of Perris Hot Summer nights meets Randy Danylo (if you know, you know!) Of course had to add a Micky Dymond inspired Wolf 🐺logo to pay homage to the golden era of MX to complete the look. And since comfort and control is everything, rounded out the factory package with a custom pair of engraved Xtra Chunky grips from ESI to keep the hands nice and cozy for the 52 miles. The stoke was definitely high. 🤙🏼

Another bike scrimmage in the books 📖. 90 mins in the wind & pain cave today with a stinger of a course out at Vail Lake. People ask me why I still do it? My answer is always the same, it’s not about winning, I enjoy the preparation more than anything and the battle is always with my own expectations.

Full gas at this weekends bike tournament. A nasty head wind, stiff competition and a punchy course made for some challenging conditions. Happy to come away with P1 in the 45-49 bracket.

With everything that has transpired recently, figured the best thing to take my mind off things was go blow the rust off the early season fitness with a race out at Vail Lake and crawl in the pain cave.
I also couldn’t be prouder of the NXT LVL groms for getting on the box today with three wins and a second! So cool to see these young kids putting in the effort and being rewarded for it.

Last Sunday’s race @ Rim Nordic was a scorcher 🔥. Managed not to vapor in the hot temps and pick up the Expert 45-49 win. Added bonus of getting second O/A in the “dash for cash” with my time for the day as well. Almost like @dallasdaniels69 winning $5K and a bag of chips at last weekend’s @americanflattrack DFC but not quite.
