“What happened to me was harsh, but necessary.” Dwain Chambers was once one of the best sprinters on the planet. Bursting onto the scene in 1999, he became the youngest 100m Medallist of all time. “Being one of the quickest guys in British history, I probably exceeded my own expectations.” For many years, the consensus was that British sprinters could not compete with the worlds best the way that they once did in the 90’s. There are close to 5,000 euphemisms for period, a natural cycle women go through once a month. What’s the big deal? The lack of sensitivity when describing a period is more damaging than you think. It’s built shame and silence into what’s natural. Holly Mills has had her share of difficulties when it comes to handling her period alongside training for international competitions. Teaming up with @thewell_hq her goal is to help as many women as possible feel brave and unapologetic when speaking about their experiences. It’s time to just #SayPeriod 🎥: @tyestudio
