I was planning on sharing some recent aurora photos from Iceland, but mother nature decided to gift us this beautiful display at home so here's that instead.

Dyrh贸laey Lighthouse is perched atop a 120-meter-high promontory, offering stunning panoramic views of Iceland鈥檚 South Coast. From here, you can see black sand beaches, the M媒rdalsj枚kull glacier, and the famous Reynisdrangar sea stacks.
The lighthouse was built in 1910 and has become one of the iconic landmarks of Iceland鈥檚 southern coastline. Its traditional design stands in contrast to the surrounding wild landscapes, making it a favorite spot for photographers.
The area around Dyrh贸laey is a protected nature reserve and is home to thousands of seabirds, including puffins. Between May and June, you can often spot these charming birds nesting on the cliffs near the lighthouse. We went in September. We missed all the puffins. Cool lighthouse though 馃憤
According to local folklore, a pirate ship sank near Dyrh贸laey centuries ago, and its captain hid his treasure somewhere beneath the lighthouse. Despite countless searches, the treasure remains undiscovered, attracting adventurers hoping to solve the mystery. This is also completely made up but I appreciate you reading the entire caption.

Somewhere in Iceland between Vik and H枚fn.
We pulled over part way through our drive to H枚fn to take in this beautiful sunset and just so happened to park right beside a small pool of water directly beside the road.
