At CERA Week, the "Super Bowl of energy" hosted annually in Houston, TX, we ran into Julie Ortiz, who leads "Low Carbon Strategy" at Chevron. In Chevron's make-believe world, they think they're fooling people with titles like "Low Carbon Strategy." In 2026, do they really believe any amount of greenwashing can clean up their image? Our friend had done their homework – and spent about 10 full minutes confronting Julie with facts and figures from the past hundred years of Chevron's criminal, murderous, manipulative strategy to torch and plunder the world for profit. Steven Donziger is a humans rights lawyer who helped Indigenous Ecuadorians fight back against Chevron's toxic dumping. They won their suit to the tune of billions of dollars — so Chevron targeted Donziger in particular, manipulating the courts and putting him behind bars for daring to stand up to them. Here's what he had to say: "Chevron might be the world’s leading corporate human rights violator. The company either causes or is complicit in thousands of deaths per year of innocent civilians. In the Amazon of Ecuador, Chevron’s toxic dumping has decimated indigenous groups and killed thousands with cancer. It is time countries cancel Chevron’s social license to operate, liquidate its assets, and distribute all ill-gotten gains to the vulnerable communities the company has harmed." People that work for Chevron are responsible for the most lethal atrocities of our times, and they should be confronted with their choice to be complicit in Chevron's crimes at every turn. _ #climate #oil #texas #climatechange _ 🎥 By @_teddyoggy_

What. A. Tøtal. Løser. 🙄 Tore Løseth, Equinor's top executive in Canada, doesn't want to talk about his Bay Du Nord project in Newfoundland and Labrador. That's because he knows he's making bank from a project whose climate emissions will be astronomical, and whose environmental harms on the Indigenous Mi'kmaq peoples will continue to degrade their ways of life for generations. We found shameless climate criminal Løseth in Houston at CERA Week, the world's most important energy conference, and he couldn't answer basic questions about the Indigenous communities his project is hurting. People like Tore are destroying the world for the rest of us. It's time to fight back harder than ever. Join us! @equinor :) _ #climate #fossilfuels #environment #texas #climatejustice _ 🎥By @_teddyoggy_

Lance Goodwin is an executive at Freeport LNG. Freeport LNG is the company poisoning the town of Freeport, TX, sapping it of its wealth and health. At CERA Week in Houston, the Superbowl of the oil and gas industry, we ran into this oil baron and gave him a piece of our mind. Lance lied, over and over again. Like a child. We have the receipts, Lance. We work with Freeport natives. You're killing people, and you're killing the planet, for profit. #clima #climatechange #climatejustice #fossilfuels #globalwarming #environment #texas

Thanks but no thanks, Hut 8. 🤢 *** "TCE has primarily been focused on pollution and water abuse tied to oil, gas, LNG, and petrochemical production in our region. But the bigger issue connecting all of these fights is water." "We believe water should serve people and communities first. Water should not be used as an unchecked resource to fuel industrial expansion, especially in our region which is experiencing record breaking drought. That’s why we share solidarity with communities organizing around data centers and other high-volume water industrial projects." "It’s also why we support the Fair Water Amendment in Corpus Christi. Our city is asking residents to conserve and face fines while at the same time high volume water users can opt out. We have to stop giving drought exemptions and special treatment to massive water users whether it’s LNG facilities, plastics producers, or data centers. We have to ask our ourselves why would be continue to write checks for water that we can’t cash." -Brion Oaks Executive Director Texas Campaign for the Environment

In 2019, we won the largest citizen Clean Water Act settlement in U.S. history against Formosa Plastics, including a binding agreement to zero discharge of plastic. Since then, Formosa has violated that agreement 952 times. Over $90 million paid back to this community. Yet Formosa’s plastic still flows into our bays. Plastic pollution doesn’t belong in our waters. Tell TCEQ to do their job. 👉 Act now. The permit is open for comments. Only 2 min of your time. Deadline is May 18. 1️⃣ Request a 30-day extension for public comments 2️⃣ Request a public meeting at the link in our bio. #stopformosaplastics #zerodischarge #plasticpollutes #protectcalhouncounty #microplastics

We’re building a team to help collect signatures so voters can decide whether or not industry should continue to receive a drought handout. You’ll be: -Talking with residents across Corpus Christi -Collecting petition signatures -Working in high-traffic community spaces We’re looking for people who are: -Reliable and consistent -Comfortable approaching and speaking with strangers -Motivated by hitting goals -Interested in environmental and community issues -Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus To apply, find our job openings at: TexasEnvironment.org/work-with-us To learn more about the Fair Water Amendment, go to: FairWaterAmendment.org

Polluting corporations are receiving HUGE tax breaks to generate a small number of expensive jobs... and no one's sure whether or not they're fulfilling their job creation obligations.

April 10th Special Water Workshop Recap❗️💧 While there was no new information ready to present to the Corpus Christi City Council, Mayor Paulette Guajardo called for an “Emergency Meeting” via her Facebook page following Governor Abbott’s threats to have the state intervene in the management of the region’s water. 😡🗣️ At the workshop, no new information was presented about the proposed Inner Harbor Desalination Project, any other potential water projects, and no decisions were made. 🤔📝 Members of the council and the community voiced that this meeting brought no new information to light and has not brought the region closer to water security.🚰🚿 The next vote for the Inner Harbor Desalination Project is currently set for June 2nd. 🚨🗣️ Folks, reach out to your City Council Members and tell them to vote NO on the false solution that is desalination. ❌🌊 And be sure to sign the Fair Water Amendment! ✍️💧
