Out Now 🍃 Guaraci Tupi - ‘Awá Dipoká’ Awá Dipoká, translating roughly to ‘Warrior of the Spear’, is an artistic experience that transcends borders by connecting the music, ancestry, and spirituality of Brazil’s indigenous peoples with a contemporary audience. Led by the indigenous artist @awadipoka - belonging to the Tupi ethnic group of the Bananal Indigenous Land, in the Tekoá Pakowaty Village of Peruíbe/SP - the project originates from experiences in the territory and listening to ancestral knowledge, transformed into musical expression. The original album brings together songs, rhythms, and narratives that evoke the memory, spiritual strength, and resistance of the original peoples, affirming indigenous culture as a living and constantly evolving presence. The album is recorded, mixed and produced by @txaifernando . The intention of this digital release is to further expand the message, allowing the power of indigenous songs to resonate beyond physical territories, reaching listeners in different parts of the world. ‘Awá Dipoká’ is, above all, an act of cultural resistance and identity affirmation. An invitation to an encounter between tradition and contemporaneity, where art becomes a path to dialogue, listening, and transformation. You can hear the album in full everywhere now. ✨

What to say about my dear brother Txai Fernando? Co-founder of Nixi Music record label, Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and producer with a vast musical background, innovative soundscapes, and a unique style of playing, arranging and recording. He currently lives in Oslo, Norway, where he performs, collaborates with, and produces various artists, including Amazon Ensemble, Astral Flowers, Ayla Schafer, Curawaka, Dois Sois and many indigenous musicians from the Hunikuin, Yawanawa and Noke Koi peoples, as well as collaborating with many too Scandinavian musicians. Txai Fernando co-produced my first album for Nixi Music, Kindred Souls, and he helped me out with his unique musical touch on several of the tracks from One Thousand Petals that were in need of a final touch of magic to bring them to completion. Txai is one of those people that works tirelessly to help others bring their musical vision to fruition in the studio.
