A special tribute to one of football’s greatest minds

Transforming the Johan Cruijff ArenA for an evening centered around Cruijff’s story and impact made this project one to remember. And with Ajax playing a home match in the ArenA this Sunday, it feels like the right moment to look back at a night fully dedicated to Cruijff’s legacy.
For the premiere of the new Johan Cruijff documentary, we were asked by SportVibes to shape the opening show and direct the live experience. From the opening of the evening all the way to the first frame of the film, we developed a custom visual package combining lighting, LED and lasers into one integrated show inside a fully packed Arena.
A key element of the show was the laser projection mapped onto the green pitch of the ArenA. Using laser visuals, we brought Cruijff’s vision of football to life by highlighting the tactical positions and movements he introduced to the game.

A moment we’ve been building towards for a long time...
Together with @arminvanbuuren , we brought Piano to life as a full TWOFIFTYK production.
An exclusive performance showing a different side of Armin through a more intimate and personal experience. Accompanied by a live orchestra, Armin tells the story about how he found his way back to himself through the beauty of simplicity. Not behind the booth, but behind a grand piano on the iconic rooftop forest of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
From creative direction and production to the full live experience, this project was built together from the ground up. Seeing it all come together in such a unique setting makes our heart skip a beat ❤️

A custom centerpiece at the heart of Outworld Madrid, created together with @klangkuenstler
What started as early ideas, we developed into a a fully custom reactor, designed exclusively for Outworld. Inspired by the event’s dystopian sci-fi environment, the structure was shaped around space aesthetics and industrial structures.
Built entirely from scratch: integrated lighting, custom LED strips and lasers built into the legs, turning it into an active part of the stage system.
What made this project extra special, is it marked the first time Klangkuenstler introducing a custom decor installation into his show. Adding a new visual layer to the Outworld experience and creating a stage element that moved with the energy of the event. Designed for Madrid, with the flexibility to grow and adapt across future shows and new locations.

We’re mostly known for what happens on stage, but with Factory Town it all started way before the venue opened its doors.
For @factorytown_ we developed the full visual identity. From brand strategy and positioning to logo design, typography and a complete design system.
Factory Town lives inside an old warehouse in Miami: that became the starting point. We built an identity that feels just as raw, open and constantly evolving.
A custom type direction, a logo that represents the look and feel of the venue, and graphic elements that work across every touchpoint.
That’s where we started, but not where we finished. Stay tuned to discover how we translated this visual identity into Factory Town’s venue design.

This project is one of our longest-running collaborations. A place where we’ve been building, testing and exploring ideas for years. Together with @artofdance_official we create a playground where there’s room to experiment and take things further every time.
That also means long days, a lot of focus and full commitment on site. But just as much room for fun in between.

Built on CTRL//BREAK, the @dgtlfestival theme of the year, we designed the visual language of the Modular: the largest stage on the festival.
CTRL//BREAK represents the moment when existing systems are disrupted and give way to new energy, speed and movement. From this perspective we approached the design as a digital ecosystem that evolves from order to disruption. Starting off structured, then break, distort and evolve into something new.
We translated that into our own digital take on refraction. We built a 30-meter tunnel made up of four segments (each 7.5 meters), with a 5-meter diameter. Inside, 32 screens formed the surface for the visuals. White light was projected into the structure and as the intensity increased, the system started to respond: the light refracted, colours appeared and the whole tunnel shifted from controlled to layered and distorted.

A little insight into Toffler 2.0.
About three months ago, we reopened the doors of our renewed club. Together with @twofiftyk , we brought this new chapter to life, but it came with a serious amount of work behind the scenes. In a very short time, the team went all in to make it happen.
Early mornings, late nights, and a lot of dedication to turn ideas into reality. Every corner of the space reflects the effort that went into it.
Proud of what we have built so far, and excited for what lies ahead.
The five areas of ASOT 🔥
At A State of Trance Festival, we design five distinct worlds across the venue: each with its own identity and atmosphere.
What makes them connect is the way we work. At TWOFIFTYK, stage design, visuals, and branding evolve together from day one. One team, one process. This way, the different elements can tell a stronger story together. Creative ideas and technical solutions are developed side by side: pushing concepts further and allowing innovation to happen naturally along the way.

Some of us have been shaping this event series since ASOT 400, some of us have just started but we all share the same passion and dedication for this iconic brand and its community.
To celebrate the 25 year anniversary together was truly special to us and the memories of last weekend will stay with us for a long time.
