ITS BEEN A HOT MINUTE! I think it’s time I reintroduce myself. Having worked my whole career in pharmaceutical sales, after graduating from university with the most irrelevant MSc in Equine Science and Business Management, I knew I was done. My two boys brought about a perspective like no other. One where time with them felt more precious than anything. They unearthed a side of me I didn’t know existed. It took a long time, but I found a version of me that would only show itself after I let go of the relentless pursuit of financial reward. A creative side emerged from nowhere but a love of baking and all things food has been a constant for as long as I can remember. So here I am. Realising life is short, living the dream, working with incredible customers, bringing edible art to life. The most genuine feeling I have is that it’s a true honour to be chosen to celebrate someone’s special day. Had to jump on this trend because it made me laugh. If the conversation starts with any of the following, I’m running for the hills… - “Just” - “Little” - “Simple” That “little” cake you’re after takes me 5 hours to make. There is no “just” throwing a cake together either and sometimes the most “simple” of cakes take the most time because there is nowhere to hide!!! I may be wrong but it implies a lack of awareness of the effort needed, the time it’s going to take and therefore the monetary investment required. My number one business rule is to only work where value is appreciated, energy matches and joy is found. It makes for the most enjoyable business ride.
