🦷"CUSP" IS OUT NOW! 🦷 We would like to provide a strange (?), gentle (?), dark (?), hopeful (?) start into the weekend, and the rest of the year. Our debut album "Cusp" is out now via @hallundecho ! You can get your download, vinyl, or CD via bandcamp, or find it everywhere else you get music. Apart from Jan @yung.priceless on production and Anna @annakohlweis on vocals and lyrics, a whole lot of other people have helped bring this record to life. We'd love if you took a peek at the credits and liner notes at the bottom of the bandcamp album page to see who else was involved. We have one feature on this album, which is @jamesphoney (of @buriers fame), and we couldn't be more stoked that he agreed to add his words and voice to our particular universe. Releasing an album is such a mountain of work, just piles and piles of little bits and pieces. It feels exhilarating to finally let you all listen to a story that started back in early 2020 in Berlin and Vienna, growing remotely over the course of a pandemic. We found some hope in this collection of songs, we wrote some hope into this album. We hope you find the same in it for yourself. There's a lot of shimmer in the darkness. Before "Gap Year" became a @twintooth song and music video, an early version of the lyrics was published as this visual poem / comic / four-page drawing in ROH Magazine in 2021. The zine itself was riso printed, which added an additional beautiful tactility to this piece. Feeling this poem today, and my past self who wrote it. Forever the dispatcher, sending several "Hello? Hello?"s into the headset. The music video, based on some of these drawings, will be shown on the big screen at the free Karlskino open air cinema on Karlsplatz, Vienna, on July 11th as part of a big @bestaustriananimationfestival short film program. NO.10: SERPENT Welcome to the last Episode of "All You Ever Wanted To Know About "Cusp" By Twin Tooth"! "Serpent" is hyperromance. Also, hell. Also, the inside of a snake. Also, some kind of manifestation of connection in the face of bent, broken, scarred things. This song also initially came from @yung.priceless and @subletvis ' band @waeldermusic and never made it onto one of their records. Anna is very glad it didn't. It might be her favorite Twin Tooth song. Thank you for following along! What's next for us? Jan is working on some theater projects, and probably twenty other things. Anna is staring at walls, painting on some of them, and thinking of new stories and hopes to speak into the universe on the next Twin Tooth album, which might already partially exist. You'll see. Anna isn't sure if it was ever obvious that the title is written as separate words because you know, sister Moon beams with pride. Anna has mixed feelings about "Watermark Sirens", it's something subconscious and unsettling. Jan gives factual information about where the this instrumental actually came from. NO.7: TRASH FIRE Welcome to episode seven of "All You Ever Wanted To Know About "Cusp" By Twin Tooth"! Did you know that "Trash Fire" was originally a Waelder track? Waelder @waeldermusic are Jan and Moritz Nahold @subletvis . They put out some beautiful records and maybe this is the moment you could go and listen to them. The first time Jan and Anna collaborated was on a Waelder track named "Cradle Coddle Coo". We are so thankful for the past few days! Thank you everyone for the sold out show we got to play with our dear friends Myles Bullen @beatboxpoet and Chris Conde @chriscondetherapper and for the quality time spent together. We rounded off the week by playing the most fun show with the best sound we ever had at @novacvernovka in Bratislava in the same lineup of bands, plus @plie.official 🖤 Jan has gone back to Berlin, but left Anna with music that will eventually become the second Twin Tooth album.
