Well it’s been a week since the Varsity Line finished its run. Such an incredible experience. Finding jokes with actors, working with crew who designed the set, lighting, sound and costumes, collaborating with a talented writer, and dipping my toes into the deep pond that is the Wilmington theater community has been a humbling, thrilling, expansive experience. I hope you got to see this fun play, and if not I hope it gets another run somewhere sometime so you can. Worth it. ❤️ to all involved

All aboard! 🚂🎭 Meet the company of #TheVarsityLine, an original one-act play written by Wilmington native Mack Webb (@mack.wolf.webb ). Directed by Bo Webb and stage managed by Terri Hsu (@terrisinstaworld ), THE VARSITY LINE (@the.varsity.line ) runs May 1-9, 2026 in the Red Box at Thalian Hall (@thalianhall ). We are proud to co-produce this original work alongside Twinkle Doon (@twinkledoon ). The Varsity Line was an English train route that ran between Oxford and Cambridge for many years. In 1938, a new articulated three-carriage diesel railcar was introduced. During its first few trips, the train was rarely used because new things are frightening. This play is set during one of those early trips. A varied cast of characters - siblings returning from a funeral, an aging lecturer, railway employees, and two famous detectives - learn that there is a safe full of money on the train, along with at least one train robber. This play is a screwball comedy farce in the spirit of “It Happened One Night,” or perhaps “Airplane!” on the Orient Express. 🎟️ Tickets available now at
