This project is much bigger than music for me.
“Prevail” was born out of my experiences as a son, a teacher, mentor, actor, and creative working closely with our young people here
@charliesmithhigh every single day. Over the past years, through my action research focused on “How the classroom environment affects teaching and learning,” I’ve seen firsthand how many of our students are trying to survive while carrying burdens far beyond the classroom.
I’ve seen talented young men struggling without guidance. I’ve seen mothers doing everything in their power to raise sons on their own. I’ve seen fathers physically present but emotionally absent. I’ve seen broken spaces, broken confidence, broken motivation, and broken hope.
And I realized that before we can truly educate our children, we also have to rebuild the environments around them physically, emotionally, spiritually, and creatively.
That is what PREVAIL is about.
This is not just a song. It is a movement. A restorative mission.
The goal is to use the arts, entertainment, storytelling, and community involvement to help restore what has been neglected starting with the Theatre Arts classroom and creative spaces at school, but also reaching deeper into the hearts of the students and families we serve.
Every stream, every share, every repost, every conversation helps this cause grow.
To every student fighting silent battles… To every single mother carrying the weight of two parents… To every young man trying to find purpose in a difficult world… This one is for you.
