Did you know that when it comes to interfacing, "traditional" interfacing actually isn't your only option? Long before purpose-made interfacing existed, sewists used hard-wearing natural fabrics as interfacing - and it may be a great option for you, too! We've shared our best tips + tricks for using fabric as interfacing on the Twig + Tale Blog - head to our bio link to check it out!

Have you ever stood in the fabric store staring at bolts of interfacing, having absolutely no idea which one to choose? Or found yourself wondering if maybe you could get away with skipping it, just this one time? You're not alone. Interfacing is one of those topics that can be very confusing and using the wrong type can cause so much frustration (the bubbling, the stiffness, the peeling...). But interfacing is, in fact, very important to the structure of garments, and we want to help you feel confident in choosing the right type for your project. We've just shared a new post on the Twig + Tale blog that discusses all things interfacing: 🌿What interfacing is and why it matters 🌿Fusible vs sew-in interfacing 🌿The main types (woven, non-woven, and knit) and when to use them 🌿Natural fibre alternatives Whether you've always felt mystified by interfacing, or just want to feel more confident in your choices, this is the blog post for you! I'll pop a link in our bio, so you can check it out. 🔗

I have a question for you - and be honest! 👇🏻 Do you take measurements before starting a sewing project? Or do you sometimes just guess? No shame - we've all been there! Sometimes it seems like an unnecessary step, or it might feel intimidating... or we might not be able to find the measuring tape (where do they disappear to anyhow?!). But, if there's one recommendation we can give you to get your project off to a strong start, it's that taking accurate measurements will ensure you get the best possible fit from your sewing pattern. It just so happens that we have a beautiful new adult pattern coming out soon that requires exercising those measuring skills to get an ideal fit - so, we thought a little refresher (and reminder to find those measuring tapes 😉) might be just the thing! Head to our bio link to about How To Take Your Measurements on the Twig + Tale Blog 🌿
