Been dreaming big lately…. Big bowls. Headed into the studio with some plans of making some large serving bowls tonight. But first, I’m basking in this afternoon sunshine for a few more minutes. Basement studio life, I guess.
Still daydreaming about this vase. Took some inspo from retro line work and applied it to this round vase. I used varying thickness of tape to create the negative space and let the natural speckled clay body give contrast to the matte black glaze. It’s already sold but worthy of a place on the feed. 😍

A few recent glaze kiln shots: a mix of wholesale and holiday market prep
Found my studio rhythm in October. I fired 8 times in the month. Twice a week. Mainly to get wholesale orders out but now I’m switching gears and prepping for holiday. I’m only doing one in-person market this year, @love.the.locals on Dec 5th and 6th. I plan to have an online shop update afterward for those who can’t make it.

A big ole gust of wind came sweeping thru the courtyard and caught my shelves just right. One of the shoppers grabbed the shelves but it was just tipped enough that everything slid right off. One small pebble platter was the sole survivor. And I’ve decided I’m going to keep that one for myself.
No one was hurt, thank god. But my little creative soul is a bit bruised.
