@slopingband re-released their first album as CD recently (this is your sign to go cop). I shot the art and the press photos for it and it’s got me thinking about how many photos I have that I would love to see as album art… So if any music friends out there are looking for album or single art on the fly, please hit me up, I got a big catalog.
And to be clear, this is not something where I’m looking to get paid (at least for already existing work), I’d just love to see it get used for something.
had a long dry spell of “real” photography, but I psychologically can’t not take photos, so I just kept the Kodak Charmera in my pocket for a couple months and it’s been super fun. A lot of lofi charm in that thang and so insanely portable. Phone cameras are so good now that it’s kinda nice to have a portable camera that takes shitty photos. #kodakcharmera
there’s a million brilliant textures all around you at any given time. Take a moment to appreciate them. Some of them are nice and some of them are nasty. Turn off the podcast. Feel the grit of the concrete with the callus on your pointer finger. Then again with the back of your hand. Note the scent of the air. Consider the structure of the cellulose in the grain of the wood. The context is endless.
very excited to see @filmphotographyproject bringing back their Retrochrome 400 slide film… it’s a government surplus Ektachrome that I guess was used by the military in some capacity before they switched to digital? Anyway, it’s got a beautiful color palette, and I only got a chance to shoot a couple of rolls back in 2018 when they still had it in stock (and a couple of those shots ended up being some of my personal favorites).
I still have a roll or two in the fridge, but have been precious with it since I thought it was gone for good… but it looks like they found more stock and are bringing it back. Give it a try if you like expired film; it won’t disappoint.
