Every generation has it’s share of bands who get filed away as perennial critical darlings yet commercially misunderstood, only to be rediscovered decades later; The Replacements may be the poster child of that phenomenon for the 80s. Perpetually underselling, perpetually tripping over themselves - both literally and metaphorically - there’s a reason they’ve long been called “the best band to never make it”.
But with TIM - their first major labor effort and backed by production by Tommy Ramone - the Replacements made the classic that would ensure their place in rock history forever, whether they liked it or not.
We’re not in Minnesota, but dive bar rock always sounds better at Bottlerocket. So grab a beer (or a couple) and join TV’s Norm bringing this classic record to life front to back, live and loud like the ‘Mats would like.
