Today’s the day! Never Change is finally out! Links in bio to stream it, or order it in Europe or the US. I started writing this record in 2017, it was supposed to be recorded in 2020, but didn’t get started till 2021. Now in 2023 it’s finally here. Big thanks to Producer/Engineer/Mixer extraordinaire @thechicojones for putting up with all my requests and really making this thing shine. He never once told me the record “doesn’t need more talky parts.” I told him ages ago I wanted it to sound like a Chris Thomas production and Chico delivered with a nice modern version of that style. Thanks to @franzbarcella at @wildhoneyrecords___ for being patient and making sure the album was perfect. That handshake deal at SXSW (see kids, you still can get signed at SX) really paid off. And for Riccardo @riczambly for the big time stadium feel of the mastering. Listening to the vinyl for the first time made me hear the the songs all brand new and fresh. It sounds incredible, y’all. Big thanks to everyone in the band for taking 2 to 3 chord songs and helping them achieve their true potential. Jason’s insane solos and lead guitar work, Lisa’s beautiful harmonies, Chris’ thundering anthemic drums, and Mike’s…..Space Drum, I guess. Also, big ups to Zach Blair for coming in and dropping some more next level guitar tracks. Every record needs a superstar cameo. Thanks to a guy named “Something Samuel” who I’ve never met, but Chico texted him and asked for some Sadé style saxophone for Watching You, and he recorded it at home and sent in possibly my favorite part of the whole record. Also thanks to @erinfrazierjones for more beautiful harmonies and Denim-esque backing vocals. Big shout out to Brandon Hunt and Leslie for letting us take pics in his pool while they were out of town. And for the pool guy for stopping us halfway through and telling us to get out. And lastly, thanks to Sophie @sophieryanwood for coming in for the cleanup and writing our bios and one sheets. It’s hard to put our greatness into words! If you’ve read this far, thanks for reading.
