Peak migration season has arrived in the South, and the birds are putting on a show! 🦅
Every spring, warblers, shorebirds, and other migratory species travel through our region looking for healthy habitats! We work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other state wildlife agencies on projects to care for our feathered friends, like building bird boxes and osprey nesting platforms, restoring native grasses, and helping wildlife thrive.

Nearly 93 years ago, Nebraska Senator George Norris had a vision for what the Tennessee Valley could become. A strong supporter of public power, he introduced the Norris Bill, which later became the TVA Act.
Signed on May 18, 1933, the act established the Tennessee Valley Authority to improve life across the region through flood control, electrification, and reforestation.
Today, we’re honored to carry that mission forward, keeping the lights glowing, the river flowing, and the Valley growing! ⚡🌊 #TBT

You may know the Ocoee River for its world-class whitewater rafting, but did you know that the dam that makes that rafting possible was built over 100 years ago? 😮
We're going back in time to the early days of Ocoee No. 2! It is the second in a series of three dams on the Ocoee River in Polk County, Tennessee. Built in 1913 and acquired by TVA in 1939, the dam has played an essential role in our power system and has become a recreation destination for rafters of all skill levels! 💪#TBT

Lake levels across the Tennessee Valley continue to be impacted by ongoing drought conditions.
James Everett, General Manager of River Management, explains what we’re seeing across our lakes and rivers, and what to expect as we head into summer. Even with some recent rain, not all of that water is reaching our lakes. As a result, levels are lower than what we typically see this time of year. You can still enjoy time on the water - we encourage everyone to plan ahead and stay mindful of changing conditions.
Stay up to date on lake levels anytime at http://tva.me/YYsK50YTx7S or through the TVA Lake Info app.
