Boxes When I was in primary school, there were common perspectives from which different concepts were taught. I think this may be the root of why people put boxes around their relationships with each other and sometimes these boxes create expectations and when they aren't met, we feel like something is missing. This is why emotions need to be mastered and not allowed to run wild. All of a sudden that something missing can become a little push into the sphere of careless expression. People are so much more that just one facet of their human interaction. Each person is a whole person not just dad or mum or sister or brother. This is something I'm learning. To see people as whole people and not just who they are to me. I think this is one very important aspect of always retaining compassion in how I relate with people around me. It isn't always easy but I'm still learning and still growing and He's still working on me. Xoxo, Damilola #ExudeTheLove

One thing I am grateful for is a gift I believe God has given me. When I see something, hear a story, watch a play, experience one thing or the other, especially when it is outside me, I often look at it through the lens of the Word or the Bible or my relationship with God. I saw something regarding forgiveness and as I was processing what they said I realised just how much forgiveness really entails and why it is a command from God that His people forgive each other. Processing why things happen, coming to accept them and being able to let go of resentment and guilt is a priceless process that cannot be overrated. So be bold! Dive deep and be brave. Take hold of your peace and freedom now. Comment below on what the process of forgiveness means to you. I'm sure we can all learn from each other. #ExudeTheLove XOXO, Damilola

#ExudeTheLove Loving yourself is important and being authentic is "importanter" but there is a fine line between loving yourself and being complacent in your current state of development. It was once pointed out to me that my comments in conversation could come off as insensitive. It was never my intention to be insensitive but that's how I was perceived. So I had two options. Tell myself that I was just being direct and anyone who saw it another way should grow up, or see it as an opportunity to hone the way I communicate my thoughts. I chose the latter because I realised that upon careful, objective reflection, it wasn't complete hogwash. There was a perspective from which a reasonable person could see some of my speech as somewhat harsh. From then on I decided to take criticism as an opportunity to evaluate myself and take action IF NECESSARY. Sometimes the "haters" might just have a point. Choose what you do with the information.
