The sea turtles of Nguthungulli Julian Rocks are diverse, beautiful, and a bit funny, and there are plenty to enjoy, including Green, Hawksbill and Loggerhead. This was from an amazing 2-day trip to Julian Rocks back in January. Can’t wait to go back next summer! @dji Osmo Action 6 ✌🏼On board with @bluebaydivers

Focused On Nature wishes you a Happy Endangered Species Day! Today, we recognise the extraordinary species whose futures depend on the choices being made now—and the people working, often quietly and persistently, to protect them. Through our partners, Focused On Nature supports work that protects threatened wildlife and the places they depend on—from MPAs and coral reefs to rainforest corridors and some of the world’s most vulnerable animals. Endangered Species Day is a commitment to protect these species through advocacy, education, and awareness.

Aldabra giant tortoise vs Indian almond seed🥊 Keep watching to see who wins 👀🐢 Aldabra giant tortoises love feeding on the fallen seeds of the Indian Almond tree. They often consume the fleshy outer layer before swallowing the entire seed. This behaviour makes them excellent seed dispersers. By swallowing seeds whole, moving around, and later passing them out elsewhere, they help propagate plants and support healthy island ecosystems 🌱🐢🌿 📹@iotaseychelles #aldabrachelysgigantea #aldabratortoise #aldabragianttortoise #seeddispersal #seychelles

Today, we mourn the loss of media pioneer and conservation visionary Ted Turner, founder of @cnn and @turnerendangeredspeciesfund , whose impact on wildlife conservation is almost impossible to measure. Through his vast ranches in New Mexico and across the American West, Turner helped lead the rewilding and protection of numerous keystone species, including the grey wolf, bison, Bolson tortoise, black-footed ferret, prairie dog, and Bighorn sheep. His lifelong commitment to restoring ecosystems changed the future of conservation in the United States and beyond. In 2023, @vildwerk founder @chiaragorodesky visited Ladder Ranch with @turtleconservancy , where she met senior biologists Dr. Chris Wiese @drcwiese , Dr. Scott Hillard, and renowned wolf conservationist Mike Phillips. Witnessing this extraordinary conservation work firsthand became one of the inspirations behind the founding of vildwerk. and its mission to inspire conservation awareness through dance. As Jane Fonda beautifully said: “I see him in heaven now with all the wildlife he helped bring back from extinction – the black-footed ferrets, the prairie dogs, Big Horned sheep, Mexican Gray Wolf, the Yellowstone wolf pack, bison, the red-cockaded woodpecker and so many more, they’re all gathered at the pearly gates applauding and thanking him for saving their species.” Rest in peace, dear Ted. Your legacy lives on in the wild places and species you fought so hard to protect. #TedTurner #Conservation #Rewilding #Bison #greywolf
