Saguaro man 2026: I am so lucky to have such amazing and wonderful people in my life and such an incredible community to call home. I am so thankful for saguaro man. It is the first place I was ever around like minded hippies and every year fills my soul up with so much live and faith in humanity. Getting to exist in a space full of art and self expression and saftey, getting to participate in a gift economy, getting to be exactly who you are with no judgement at all and being blessed by others doing the same is so truly magical. This year we were a theme camp and got to provide so many people with delicious hydrating snacks, silly encounters and a cozy space to exist and relax and it was so fulfilling. Also this being my third year there were many friends who I've got to see again! Being seen and recognized and recognizing others is so fun and magical. I am so glad I got to reconnect with so many lovely people like kitty 🥰 and all the new friendships made this year were so delightful💖 Whatever the future holds, this experience will be a pillar in my heart for how life can be 🧡

In light of Joanne's closing I wanted to compile this resource for local creaters. Please comment any shops I've missed and if you know if any of these are dog friendly or queer friendly I'd love to highlight that. Please share far and wide. Let's veiw this loss of a happy space as a push to shop local and build community ties 🧡 #craftlocal #tucsoncommunity

Thank you to all you wonderful creatures who helped make our fifth queer clothing exchange happen 🌸 It brings me so much joy to be able to facilitate such a community space to get gender affirming clothes to those in need and provide an outlet for individuals in need of friends and recycling their old fits. We had a wonderful turnout of about 60 people, most everyone took something and many people brought much more. We will always be here to help each other through the hard times and to create together. If anyone was unable to make it, and has things that they wish they could have donated please do not hesitate to reach out and we can work with you to receive your donations 🩷

I'm hosting a bottle bricking workshop at @queer.hearth.tucson living room craft night!! This Sunday 4/20 from 5-10pm at the 4th Ave coalition space 311 E. 7th street All supplies will be provided however you can also bring your own pliable clean plastic, plastic jugs, or sticks. Sturdy sticks/broom poles/etc are greatly appreciated as I have run out of sticks before 😊 Sticks should be ~1 in diameter and at least 1.5-2 ft long 💖 bottle bricking takes clean plastic and compresses it into a usable building block 💖 Finished bricks are used in buildings encased in adobe, Cobb, or other materials ✨Bottle Bricking :✨ - keeps plastic out of landfills - prevents creation of microplastics - prevents plastic chemicals from leaching into the environment

Queer Clothing Exchange ! Queer Clothing Exchange ! 💖 I am so lucky to have such amazing friends working so hard to build community spaces and events.🥰 I absolutly love helping out with the exchange and contributing to the community canvas 💖 April 5th at Himmel Park near the library! If you're unfamiliar, the queer clothing exchange is a FREE exchange aimed towards Queer folx and Allies to help find new clothes/shoes/jewelry or home goods, and to rid yourself of that which no longer fit/feel right for you ! I love giving them pieces I'm too attached to to donate but don't actually ever wear haha You *DO NOT* need to bring things to take things 🔥 But, donations are always welcome - either day of, or coordinate with us so we can pick up from you 🩷 I've had so many friends reach out to give me donations 💖 thank you to all of you We will have /some/ shade and seating available, as well as snacks and water if you wish to come and hang out and meet people of the community even if you do not need clothes ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 The event is from 10-2 BUT if you would like to help with setup or takedown we will be there from 9-3 ✨ Feel free to PM or comment if you have any questions ! And don't forget to follow @queer.hearth.tucson

There is a really amazing community music event happening this week and I haven't seen much about it elsewhere. I think with everything going on right now its important to celebrate this community, learn about their cultures, and celebrate the wonderful things they bring to making Tucson the amazing place it is. The world is scary right now and I think a free community music gathering is a lovely way to combat the horrors(tm) I hope this works, honestly I hate trying to make things on Instagram it's so hard to make posts lol I put the sauce in my bio and originally found out about this from #thisistucson who does weekly newsletters on free events and events in general going on in the community (I'm such a simp for them I stg) #community #tucson #tucsonhappenings #freemusic #livemusictucson #lapeñadelsur

Friendly reminder to keep an eye on the native wildflowers this spring for when they go to seed. Last spring I collected brittle bush seeds from around town and planted them in my yard and now I have brittle Bush plants and flowers in my yard and it's very lovely. Sadly none of my desert marigolds have sprouted but for my first time collecting an planting seeds i did pretty alright! I'm excited to keep an eye on the flowers around me this spring and watch for when their seeds are mature. I think I may have collected some too early last spring. You live and you learn. But because these are native plants all I had to do was sprinkle them in my yard and let nature do the rest!!
