Some drone work over one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, definitely my favorite. In the top image you can see a couple of kayakers making their way to the small islands. In the bottom image that's all shallow coral reefs.
Some of the larger coral formations, such as the one in the lower right of the bottom image might be thousands of years old. Coral itself is such an ancient form of life. Going back 535 million years.
This is from a year ago, but I'm not great at posting often. I'm pretty fortunate to have a job that sends me all around the world. This was my first time that I got sent to Hawaii for work and I was lucky enough to be able to take Leanna along for the adventure.
Filming documentaries can be rough, but they always have these bright moments that stand out in such positive ways that remind you why you're filming. Watching a real master of medicine at work, healing a sick puppy that we weren't sure was going to make it was pretty magical. Seeing a dog go under surgery and then walking around just fine a few hours later is such a nice thing to be apart of and share with the world. I'm glad we're able to bring some attention to what veterinarians are going through.
"The Shift" has been getting a lot of attention at festivals recently. Directed by @mysamio , The Shift follows an overnight veterinarian (@mattwooddall ) through the emotional and financial hardships of what vets go through on a day to day basis.
@director.ryanturner was our EP and this was a very close project to him. @danielledallas and @leannaeliset were our producer's.
We shot this documentary over the course of two action packed unforgettable nights, which were just a typical night for the staff at the clinic. My eyes were really opened to the stresses and heartache that veterinarians go through on a day to day basis.

This is a frame from I Don’t Sing Anymore, screening tomorrow night at 10pm at LA Shorts.
This was one of the most emotional scenes in the film, and I’m so glad I had Cullen Kelly as the colorist. Cullen has a way of making an image feel cinematic and alive without ever pushing too hard, his instincts are sharp, and his touch is always intentional.
He’s been a huge supporter of my work, and every time we collaborate, I walk away feeling more confident. He treats each project like a true creative partnership, and that care really shows in the final image.

Some frame grabs from our short film I Don’t Sing Anymore, which I had the pleasure of producing and shooting.
The first two images are from our latest film, the last image is from a short film called Pathological, the project where Leanna and I first met. That bar inside the Van Nuys Elks Lodge isn’t just a set to us, it’s where it all began. Going back there to film this new project together brought a wave of memories, and a lot of quiet, full-circle moments.
Leanna is one of the producers and stars of the film, and honestly, it wouldn’t exist without her. Her eye, her guidance, and her performance were all essential for this project to come together. She’s always great on camera, and there’s a deep trust between us when we’re making visuals together.
This was the first film we fully produced as a team, and it felt like a homecoming. Sharing that space inside the Elks Lodge again, but now surrounded by all the friends we’ve made along the way who came out to help us, was really special.
This is the opening shot of the film"I Don't Sing Anymore" which premiers at LA shorts film festival on Wednesday July 23rd at 10pm.
Normally I'm strictly a behind the lens kinda guy, but I made an exception for this film. In this opening shot I'm smoking a Drew estate's Liga Privada no. 9 cigarillo. The reason being is that I met our amazing director @dahliaheyman on the feature film @imordecaimovie which is a film about @marvinsamel life and the creation of that cigar. Such a subtle homage but I felt it was worth sharing.
The first time we meet Hunter’s character Abeline in the film, she’s performing and we meet her in the middle of a note. We wanted this moment to feel like time slowed down, like the room disappeared and it was just her and the music.
Everything else in the space we lit cool cyan tones and moody contrast, but here in the spotlight, we kept it warm. Let the spotlight pull the eye, and let her voice do the rest.
A frame from I Don’t Sing Anymore, featuring the amazing Rhomeyn Johnson @rhomeynj . I’d worked with him once before and was so impressed that when it came time to cast this film, he was my only must-hire. I was both the cinematographer and executive producer on this project, and bringing him into the role was a no-brainer. The film tells the story of a jazz singer who loses his voice and struggles to face the version of himself that remains. Rhomeyn brought a quiet depth that anchored the entire film.
The film premieres on July 23rd at 10pm at the LA live Regal Cinemas.
