The line-up of festival events for Wagner in Vermont 2026 is bigger and better than ever before!
Here's what we have so far:
- 3 lectures from our experts in all things Wagner-related
- 2 fully-staged cover scenes showcases, where we'll explore the stories from the mainstage operas juxtaposed against each other with our cover casts
- Unshielded: the story of Wotan and Brynhilda from Der Ring des Nibelungen
- Back by popular demand is our beautiful Liederabend returns, with a new set of singers, and new song cycles to explore
- and Qs with Hugh, aka. 'Hugh's line is it anyway?' will return, so bring your burning questions for this informal event.

Alan W. Schneider (Siegmund '23, '25) will be returning to the role of Tristan, going back to where the Wagner in Vermont festival began in 2019.
Charles Schneider (Wanderer '25) takes on the brooding Dutchman in Der fliegende Holländer.*
James Chamberlain @jamesctenor (Siegmund '22, Siegfried '24 & '25) will take on the role of Parsifal in Parsifal Act II. James will also be playing Erik in Der fliegende Holländer.
Any guesses to the rest of the casts?
*Charles and Alan aren't related - just a happy accident! Or... are they long lost siblings... separated by the sea... we'll let you speculate...

Marie Masters Webb @mariechristine1027 who you will have seen as Woglinde, Helmwige, and Woodbird in our 2025 Ring Cycle takes on the role of Senta in Der fliegende Holländer in her third Wagner in Vermont festival.
Chantelle Grant @chantellegrantmezzo , who played Erda and Grimgerde in 2025 will return in 2026 as Kundry in Act 2 of Parsifal. Those of you who were at Wagner in Vermont 2023 may remember that Chantelle stepped into this role last minute for a festival concert when another singer was indisposed!
