Meet the maker! For those who don't know me, my name is Trisha and I'm a sea glass tumbler! My partner, Nick, and I run Tumble Works and raise our 3 beautiful kiddos on the windy prairies of Southern Alberta.
Fun(?) facts:
- Our family has 2 bunnies named Elsa and Anna (the 5 y/o named them).
- Our favorite summer activity is visiting the petting zoo (we get the season pass!)
- I've never cut myself significantly on broken glass but I do have a glass sliver in my toe right now.

My daughter made 'keychains' to put in today's orders. They're just cute pictures that she laminates and hole punches 😅 I always have help packing orders!
10 years ago today, I bought a cement mixer, threw some broken bottles in, and made my first (faux) sea glass. I've learned a lot since then, including why you should not use a cement mixer to tumble glass. So so loud and messy!

I've had some questions lately on the differences between place cards and jewelry grade sea glass.
The jewelry grade comes in 3 sizes (the largest size, 2-2.75 inch, is pictured here). These take a lot longer to cut and tumble which results in super rounded and smooth sea glass pieces.
The sea glass place cards are bigger; around 3-3.5 inches. The shapes are a bit more irregular and the edges are less rounded than jewelry grade.
Let me know if you have any sea glass questions for me!
Need some advice! What would you call the bottom right color? I've discontinued my 'dusty rose' color in favor of this slightly darker, more purplish shade. Thoughts?
Sea glass treasure bags will be added to the website next week! These have a whole variety of bits and pieces to inspire your crafting. Feel free to DM if you'd like me to send the link when the listing goes live!
Here's some authentic sea glass for a change! I usually show you 'faux' sea glass (since that's what I make) but last month I had the opportunity to collect the real deal; ocean tumbled sea glass from the beautiful beaches of the Philippines. The kids were so excited to pick up sea glass for me! We went to the beach almost every day and filled our pockets with treasures.
Mr. Tumble Works is from the Philippines and this is the first time I met most of his family. This trip was long overdue, to say the least. We were showered with love the whole time and renewed so many beautiful friendships.
I'm so thankful to the many customers who have supported Tumble Works over the years. Please know that when you support a small business, your dollars go towards things like this eye-opening, life changing trip. 🏖🌊☀️🐚
Hey creative friends! Just dropping in here to mention that I'll be taking a break from the production/order packing side of the business until mid February. I do have an assistant order packer for right now but she'll only be shipping place cards; if you need bulk sea glass or jewelry grade sea glass, please order ASAP and I'll ship it out on Friday.
I'll still be checking on my messages and emails regularly though so let me know if you have any questions!
This year, I've been so very thankful for each and every one of you who supported our small business. Every order notification brings a smile to my face! I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas filled with peace, joy, and perhaps a little sea glass sparkle. 💙🌊
Keep on tumbling!
Trisha
