At DEMO 3/4, the gallery unfolds into a stage. Sink into sets by Sacred Hearts, Lavender Threat, Platonic Sex (solo), and Tullio.
Sacred Hearts
@sacredheartsmusic is a swampy, moody post-punk-inspired band from Meanjin/Brisbane. Unapologetically queer and femme, their music infuses riot grrrl, shoegaze, and experimental genres into a sound that’s both visceral and atmospheric.
Self-described as “Meanjin dyke doom”, Lavender Threat
@lavenderthreat are a local metal duo who draw inspiration from heavy, sludgy soundscapes while infusing their work with explicitly queer themes. They create music that’s both cathartic and confrontational.
Platonic Sex
@platonic.sx is a queer indie-rock band from Meanjin/Brisbane known for their guitar-driven music that blends rock aesthetics with vulnerable folk storytelling. For DEMO 3/4, lead singer Brando will perform solo, fusing beloved, emotive lyricism with gritty flair.
Tullio
@tul.lio and Update Prayer
@updateprayer are a well recognised duo in Meanjin’s electronic scene. Their performance moves fluidly between genres such as ambient, electronica, experimental - mirroring the creative energy of the night.
