Learn a new creative skill for the new year in this engaging, hands-on weekend course at Glasgow Print Studio.
Discover the art of screenprinting and bookbinding through a supportive, skill-sharing programme designed for beginners and those looking to refresh or expand their practice.
On Saturday, tutor Rosalind Lawless will introduce screen preparation, image separations and experimental mark-making. Working with stencil-based and monoprint techniques, you’ll create a collection of unique patterned papers.
On Sunday, join Kerry Douglas to explore traditional bookbinding techniques. You’ll learn to sew and bind an A5 hardback journal, using your own screenprints for both the covers and internal pages.
By the end of the weekend, you’ll leave with a finished handmade book and the confidence to continue exploring print and book arts.

Together with @abbielois.studio we’ll be designing and carving lino printed covers for our coptic bound notebooks. Abbie is an incredible printmaker with a big focus on Scottish folklore, she’ll also be sharing some magical reference books for us to draw inspiration from!✨
This time we’ll be working in Abbie’s East End Studio. Along with all the tools and materials you’ll need we’ll be bringing festive snacks and cosy drinks through out the day, and some hot mulled wine to keep us going!❄️

We’re back! Myself @abbielois.studio and bookbinder Kerry Douglas @tufftay are hosting another set of printmaking and bookbinding workshops in Glasgow east end! ✨
After the success of our last workshops back in summer, this time we’ll be hosting them from my lovely sunny studio - there’s limited capacity of 6 participants for both dates.
It’ll be an afternoon of learning to successfully plan, lino carve and print your book covers with me, followed by learning the ancient art of Coptic stitch binding with Kerry in the afternoon through to early evening.
We’ll provide snacks and hot & cold drinks through the day, and even treat you to some mulled wine in the latter half of the day if you wish to partake!

Discover the art of Screenprinting and Bookbinding in this engaging, skill-sharing weekend at Glasgow Print Studio.
On Saturday, tutor Rosalind Lawless will guide you through screen preparation, image separations, and experimental mark-making, using a blend of stencil-based, and monoprint techniques to produce unique patterned papers.
Then, on Sunday, dive into bookbinding with Kerry Douglas, where you’ll learn to craft two different book formats — a lay-flat coptic bound sketchbook and an A5 hardbound journal. Alongside learning two bindings, you’ll also make perfectly fitting hard covers, completing two bespoke books filled with your own prints.
This course welcomes beginners and those keen to expand their skills in print and book arts.

Inspired by the ancient sun festival of Beltane, join printmaker Abbie Lois (@abbielois.studio ) and bookbinder Kerry Douglas (@tufftay ) in the East End of Glasgow for a full day printmaking and bookbinding workshop. At the end of the day you will leave with your hand printed, Coptic-bound book, and new printmaking and bookbinding skills.
