Two classes down and I am so proud of what the Risky Academy has become. Out here changing lives like we intended. Couldn’t do it without @colbe891.edits@ppgpirate@rossonthego and @tjc3ppg capturing the moments.
I am so grateful. Tonight, our first six students at the Risky Academy took their first flights and they absolutely crushed it. Zero damaged gear, lots of clean launches, and big smiles all around. All on day three. This is just the beginning.
Tomorrow is the big day! On December 4th, the Risky Academy sold out five courses in six hours. I had never imagined there would be such an overwhelming amount of support behind this idea. Since then, I’ve been working every day to provide the best possible experience for our first class. Between developing the curriculum, building out the space, sourcing gear, assembling a team, creating logos, and staying dialed in the gym, there has been an insane amount of work to get to this point. Now that we’re officially launching tomorrow, I can say I am fully confident this class is going to be amazing. Our team is prepared, excited, and backed by years of paramotoring and instruction experience. Our gear is new and ready to rip. PowerPoint and curriculum are dialed. Weather is beautiful. The only thing left to do is kick some ass and change some lives with the gift of flight.
Thank you to everyone for their support. Could not be doing this without Brook, Ross, and Colbe. I am extremely grateful. Stay tuned.
Guys, we’re really doing it. Today, I got the keys to our new space. It is currently a blank slate, but over the next month, it will become the Risky Academy. A classroom, a hangout, and a place where some lives will most definitely be changed. There’s a lot of work to do, but I am so excited for this new chapter.
A throwback to 12 years ago today. I was a brand new paramotor pilot, only three months in, ambitious and stoked to get a flight in the frigid November air. My toggles were held on with snaps instead of magnets, GoPro had just released the Hero 3, and my exhaust hadn’t rattled off… yet.
I always knew paramotoring was special, but looking back now, it blows my mind how much it has shaped every part of my life. This January, it all comes full circle. With the Risky Academy, my goal isn’t just to teach people how to fly, but to share the impact this sport can have on your entire life.
