It seems like a dream, but two weeks ago, I was in Los Angeles working on the Oscars. I’m always so grateful to be a part it all. A few highlights from this year…
During rehearsal, Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans presented me and my co-winner with an Oscar for Best Screenplay.
During the rehearsal for the In Memoriam segment for Rob Reiner, I was standing in for Daphne Zuniga who was in The Sure Thing, when I looked to my right and there was Annette Bening and Kathy Bates.
Host, Conan O’Brien, was always friendly. I gave him a high five one day as I was walking by him. In hindsight, he may have just been waving to me, but he got a high five regardless.
Lastly, I was walking outside the Kodak Theater one day with my sunglasses on and a guy walking towards me stopped and said, “You’re Valerie Bertinelli!” I just smiled and kept going. #oscars #redcarpet #hollywood
How was I to know that when I met Leigh-Allyn over a decade ago on a movie set (2nd pic is from that day), that I met my best friend. We laugh together (a lot) and cry together (as needed) and live life together. She makes me better. She is strong, faithful, loving, joyful, smart… I know that our friendship is because of divine intervention. Thank you, God, for the blessing of Leigh-Allyn in my life.

A huge THANK YOU to my cousin in law, Rick Minton, for these wonderful photos from the premiere of Christmas in Frankenmuth! It was like having my own personal paparazzi only without the stalking. After the limited theatrical release in Michigan, the movie is scheduled to be released on streaming services for Christmas in July 2026.
