“Buffalo Jump”
A hunting method used for centuries by Indigenous peoples of the North American Plains. Hunters would guide or stampede a herd of bison toward the edge of a steep cliff. The animals fell and piled up below, allowing the hunters to efficiently harvest large amounts of meat, hides, sinew, and bone before winter.
So excited to be at @nurvispurvisbrewing for the first time! This Friday, March 20th, I’ll be performing 6-9 pm.
Come on out Carlsbad!

BOSE IKARD was born into slavery in the 1840’s in Summerville, Mississippi. He participated in the pioneering cattle drives on what became known as the Goodnight–Loving Trail, after the American Civil War and through 1869. Aspects of his life inspired the fictional character Joshua Deets, the African-American cowboy in Larry McMurtry’s novel “Lonesome Dove”.
