Where can seeds be found?
Throughout the past year we visited places that are drivers for cultivated seed diversity… Seed keeper’s gardens, agroecological farms, seed storage rooms in people’s homes, as well as fridges and germination chambers inside seed banks.
𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙞𝙤 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙤 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢.
SEED CARRIERS is a project by the Swiss-based association Institut Plapamco and has been developed by Alexandra Baumgartner @aaaalexandrabaumgartner , Anna Froelicher @tsjmar , Kim Schelbert @kimsewimse and Matthias Lorimer of Let’s Liberate Diversity @lets_liberate_diversity in 2024.
Why are we losing seed diversity around the world? And how can we secure the fundamental rights to seeds? Listen to SEED CARRIERS, an audio-documentary series that explores the struggle to improve cultivated biodiversity and understand the seed policies that shape the future of seeds. At the intersection of art, activism and science, we delve into the essential practices of sharing, the intricate relationships between humans and plants, and the intertwined history of plant domestication. In doing so SEED CARRIERS provides rich insights into the world of seeds and a vibrant movement for seed diversity.
