DIE OFFENE WUNDE Photo Installation Vienna, 2024 Jakob Tress, Leon Billerbeck 28 color photographs, 22x 40x60cm + 6x 60x80cm, Flat-bed printing on foam board, Aluminum frames on wooden construction 1 accompanying text DIE OFFENE WUNDE delves into the theme of recurrent depressive disorder, focusing on the way this invisible affliction gradually reveals itself and manifests in daily life. The work intertwines a seemingly objective, documentary gaze with a subjective perspective clouded by the weight of depression. The protagonist’s emotional landscape finds its expression in the external world, in the scenes we witness. What we see is a reflection of what he feels. This piece was exhibited at @westspacevienna during the event WUNDE PUNKTE — The Forum on Chronic Wounds and Beyond. The photographs shown were created in collaboration with @leon_billerbeck on the Azores and represent a small preview of our forthcoming book project DRIFT. Huhu! Ich präsentiere meine bisher wohl intimste Arbeit **DIE OFFENE WUNDE** am 7.+8. Juni im @westspacevienna in Wien zusammen mit @leon_billerbeck Anlass ist die Veranstaltung WUNDE PUNKTE — Das Forum zu chronischen Wunden und darüber hinaus. In der Arbeit gebe ich einen Einblick in das Erleben einer wiederkehrenden depressiven Störung. Am 7. Juni um 18 Uhr sag ich auch was dazu. Die gezeigten Bilder sind zusammen mit @leon_billerbeck auf den Azoren entstanden und sind ein kleiner Auszug aus unserem kommenden Buchprojekt **DRIFT**.
