A little rain and dark clouds did not dampen the TSBVI Fiesta! Students munched on fajita tacos in the cafeteria, danced in the auditorium, drank aguas frescas in the quad, listened to mariachi music, participated in the grito contest, enjoyed folklorico dancing on the patio and took turns hitting colorful piñatas.
TSBVI retirees also returned to campus to visit with their friends and join in on the fun.
Many thanks to the performers: @moneychicha , Mariachi Para Todos & McCallum
Ballet Folklorico!
The first blind soccer pitch in Texas is now at TSBVI! The ribbon cutting for the new pitch was a community celebration with performances by the McCallum HS Samba Knights band and the TSBVI drumline. In addition to ribbon cutting duties, Superintendent, Emily Coleman also picked up a drum to join the TSBVI drum line performance.
Noted TSBVI alumni and member of the USA Blind Soccer Men’s National Team, Ricky Castaneda, joined Austin FC players to lead a blind soccer clinic on the new pitch.
Thank you to @austinfc , @4atxfoundation , PCSI, and @soccerassistatx for helping make this dream a reality!
