For this episode of Substack on Film: London, we met up with @tsanteka , a Greek writer, political pundit, and personal essayist. Stella suggested we film near Parliament, starting with the “influencer spot” where people love to pose for photos. We arrived at sunrise to beat the crowds, and were treated to views of the moon setting behind Big Ben. As we walked through Westminster, Stella shared the story of how she ended up as a talking head in London despite being a Greek immigrant to the U.K. In British fashion, we were politely asked to get off the grass in Parliament Square as we captured Stella taking a phone call to prep for a TV appearance later that day. We wrapped up the morning with a sweet treat and sent her on her way. Director: @understatedswag Cinematographer: @dajianahuang Sound Recordist: @nickgladwin Editor: @charleejean

Tax dodgers don’t love Britain, they only love themselves. Good riddance. Where is the decency and the loyalty to stick to your country through thick and thin? Is this the Blitz spirit or does that only apply to the rest of us? Who gave these people their education, their culture, their networks, their confidence and their prestige? Britain did. And how do they repay their motherland, or if they are wealthy immigrants, the country that gave them the life they read about in the world’s best literature and dreamed about during the world’s best plays and movies and musicals? They flee like rats on a sinking ship. Don’t worry about a race to the bottom with other countries to attract the increasingly mean and delusional super rich. We lead the charge, the others will follow.

The UK cannot, and should not, pretend it can host everyone who wants to come live here. But we can and should tell the US and Israel to stop destroying people’s homes, public infrastructure, schools and hospitals, which make life unbearable for people. You can’t be pro-war/genocide and then blame the refugees for wanting to leave the hell hole you keep on stirring.

This is why Britains men have gone SOFT. We indulge them like babies. Let a self-made working woman get even a sideways look at the forgiveness you lot bathe in YOU POUND-SHOP PATRIOTS. Angela Rayner, poor teenage single mom who pulled her self by the bootstraps: wrong advice, £40k, resigned from dream job. Richard Tice, rich public school man, tax registered in tax heavens: £100k owed + “aggressive tax optimisation.” - no problem Farage, rich public school boy who uses his political profile to enrich himself: undeclared £5 MILLION gift. -that’s fine, apparently
