365 days 🌻
Before this date last year the longest time I lived on earth without you was the 25 days between the day I was born and the day you were born. I have never had to do life without you until 365 days ago.
I miss you dearly!!
So much has happened and there’s so much to tell you, like Moana 2 was released, the did a new version of Sarafina, and I got to work on one of the coolest shows ever you would have loved it.
Life is so different without you. I am different without you. Some days I still feel so incomplete. I wish you were here. I wish we could have another theatre date, sleep over, or camp together again.
But although it all seems so painful and at times a heavy load to carry. I understand just how blessed and lucky I am to have been loved by you. Yours was the purest, kindest and most honest kind of love. An intentional one too.
I’m so glad I got to call you my sister and do life with you through the good and the bad we were always together. Ayikho nje into ongayazi literally😂🫣!!!

28 my dear you were the toughest year of my LIFE. I lost so much in this year. I lost one of the most important people in my life and I still feel the void of her absence everyday. I lost myself in many ways. Joy, peace and laughter were so hard to find. But one thing that was always there was love. God held me down in ways I can never fully explain. He brought me closer to Him in the time I needed Him most. He showed me how much He loved me and how much I was loved. I cried more than I smiled and there were more tears than rain drops. But what 28 taught me most was perseverance in a way I never knew.
I have no idea how we made it to 29 but more than anything my heart is filled with gratitude. I am so grateful for the people, moments and blessings that made me remember that life is worth living and that MY life is worth living.
When I was putting this together my caption was going to be “moments when you were going through it and nobody knew” but as I put it together I thought “oh wow this was so special so beautiful. LOOK WHAT GOD HAS DONE” 🙏🏾
To the people who held me down this year I love you so dearly and I am so grateful for you all and what you have done for me even if you had no idea.

I am a firm believer that one must celebrate their birthday for the full month, or at least I must. This month has been a crazy month of emotions, tough chats, letting go and unlearning and pure joy. To those that held me down during my storms and those who made me laugh and smile, I am so grateful to have you in my life (I’d tag but you know yourselves).
