NEW WORKSHOP ALERT!! ⚠️👀
Acro-dance Workshop with Trystan Chambers.
This workshop will focus on learning a number of acrobatic/movement figures and tricks. Starting off simply and then building in complexity, it will help to develop a repertoire in acro-dance for the participants. Towards the end of the workshop, participants will work together to create a sequence that can be taken away and worked upon further.
The main aim of the workshop is to have fun, to get moving, and to challenge the body into new pathways and styles.
Pre-requisites:
The participants must be comfortable with taking weight on their hands and shoulders, as well as having the ability to shoulder roll/forward roll. A medium-to-good level of fitness is useful, but previous acro-dance experience is not necessary. This workshop is suitable for adults-only.
Trystan Chambers is a Welsh circus artist and producer who specialises in catch and release static trapeze and solo acrobatics. Trystan, originally coming from a background in artistic gymnastics and dance, found circus at a young age and began his career working in traditional circus. Eventually, he moved to Bristol, where he did his degree at Circomedia. He enjoys blending his love of gymnastics and movement together, finding that circus is most exciting when forms collide.
Since graduating, Trystan has performed across the U.K. and internationally with companies such as NoFit State Circus, Cirque Bijou, The Invisible Circus, and The Netherlands National Circus. Trystan is also the co-founder of Grounded Circus. Currently, he is returning to tour once again with NoFit State Circus as they create a new show in their 40th year.
Now that the dust has settled.
It’s been a few weeks since we closed Sabotage. 4 years, and almost 400 shows. 7 countries, and a lot of memories. It’s a funny thing to grieve a show.
I already miss parts of this show and life so much, I learnt SO much - and I know my time here pushed me to be better at what I do, took me out of my comfort zone, sometimes to break me to make me stronger again.
Most of all, i miss our little dysfunctional family. All the laughs, the pranks, the jokes, the dancing, the food, the pure absurdity of it all. What an utter privelage to have such important fun with you all.
