I’ve been listening to Tycho for about 10 years, and I finally got to see them live! They came to me at a turning point in my life and are the nostalgic soundtrack of the early days of my explorations into psychedelics, smoking weed, spirituality, and falling in love with the girl I’m married to now. Their music opened me up to a whole new world of musical and emotional possibilities that I didn’t realize existed, and they laid forth the path to where I’m at now. I can’t believe I got to hear some of these songs live that have impacted me so much over my entire adult life. Completely surreal experience.
Where do I even begin? This year’s Interdimensional sound bath at Woodsfest was absolutely divine. It was planned to be Saturday morning, but got rained out. We thought it wasn’t going to happen but we waited out the bad weather and ended up doing it during sunset after the rain. When it got dark, I got to have projected psychedelic visuals and dreamy lighting, which wouldn’t have been the case if I had played that morning as planned, so that worked out beautifully. I was surprised how many people participated.
Halfway through, the rain picked back up, and I saw everyone begin hurrying to grab their chairs and blankets and I thought everyone was heading back to camp which really made me sad since I worked so hard on this. I was so excited, honored, and humbled to see that everyone actually carried all their stuff up to the stage to sit behind me up close and personal under the cover of the roof so they wouldn’t miss a minute of it. My heart was filled with love, joy, and gratitude. I turned the speakers to face them and continued to finish the 2 hour set. It was so intimate, emotional, and magical.
I cannot thank those of you who stuck around for it enough. I worked for months to make it something special for y’all, and it was y’all who made it so special for me. I’ll be glowing from this experience for some time 🙏
