THE WARPED FOREST 5/19 at @trylon_cinema Settle into your chair and be transported to a place both familiar and alien; where a giant shop-girl can barely fit in her store, there’s a weird green pod in every bedroom, and terrifying wood nymphs provide a heartbroken woman with the anatomically correct fruit everyone seems to covet. In the end we are left, like Alice, with the Red King’s conundrum: are we dreaming them or are they dreaming us? The Warped Forest is a spiritual sequel to Funky Forest: The First Contact (2005) 💫 🎟 $5 | trylon.org/film/the-warped-forest (in bio) 💌 UPCOMING SCHEDULE 🌲 5/20 - The Warped Forest 6/17 - Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins

Happy Maiden Monday! This Wednesday, come check out the MN Premiere of DI'ANNO: IRON MAIDEN'S LOST SINGER @trylon_cinema and co-presented by @extremenoisempls . Shout out to our friends @cleopatrarecords & from director @theorshos (LEMMY and THE DAMNED: DON'T YOU WISH THAT WE WERE DEAD) comes a new hard hitting metal doc! Trailer: /watch?v=Oqk4b4IJJ6o Tix: /events/dianno-iron-maidens-lost-singer One of icons of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, London-born Paul Di’Anno helped launch Iron Maiden around the world, appearing on two of the most foundational metal albums ever released: Iron Maiden’s 1980 self-titled debut and the celebrated follow-up, “Killers,” released in 1981. In one of the most epic sagas in metal history, Di’Anno left Maiden in 1981 and was replaced by Bruce Dickinson, leaving metal fans around the world to debate which line-up and which singer was/is better. It’s a debate that continues to this day, almost 50 years later. Wheelchair-bound since the mid-2010s, Di’Anno’s health nosedived during the Covid-19 pandemic, when two fans launched a crowdfunding campaign which ultimately led to him relocating to Croatia, where through the help of those fans and doctors, he made a dramatic turnaround while running out of money, reuniting with his former Maiden bandmates and falling in love. Eventually he makes a heroic and drama-filled return to the stage. Dir. Announcing our June monthly film, the MN Premiere & a Special Sneak Preview of SUMMER TOUR. Tickets are now on sale for the Wednesday, June 10 screening @trylon_cinema . Tix:/film/summer-tour/ This dreamy love letter to Deadheads follows a group of young fans attending every show of Dead & Company’s 2023 goodbye tour. Director Mischa Richter (himself a Deadhead) captures events with intimate naturalism, lingering on parking-lot twirls, improvised economies, and the strange grace of communal life on the move. He never shows Dead & Company performing. No backstage access, no band interviews. Instead, his cameras spotlight the fans, particularly Jerry and Annie—young, barefoot, gloriously unbothered as they wander the country in a questionable camper van. Neither was alive when Jerry Garcia walked the earth, yet both have organized their lives around this music with an intensity that demands respect rather than mockery. They are totally serious and smarter than you think. One senses they’ll eventually run some small enterprise together (artisanal mushrooms, perhaps?). But not yet. Right now, the road is calling. Co-produced by actress Chloe Sevigny (who once followed the Dead with director Richter), SUMMER TOUR does something rare and difficult: it takes easy targets and makes them fully, stubbornly human. It’s the film the Deadhead demographic deserves—sharp, tender, and utterly unwilling to apologize for its subjects. Looking for a miracle? Get on the bus. @deadandcompany @utopiamovies Dir.
