We have another #MenuMonday lined up for you! Do you like hominy? Hominy are kernels of corn that have been soaked in an alkaline solution and then washed to loosen and remove the hulls. Hominy can either be eaten as the whole kernels, or ground into something more like cornmeal or grits. The Trumans ate hominy grits with their fish for dinner on this day in 1949. (And in case you were wondering, the "aligator pears" for lunch are what they called avocados!) https://catalog.archives.gov/id/7583644
We have a new #MenuMonday! Do you eat cranberries outside of Thanksgiving? On this day in 1948, the Trumans ate stuffed chicken with cranberry jelly for dinner. Do you prefer whole berry cranberry sauce, or jellied cranberry sauce? https://catalog.archives.gov/id/7583191
