MATERIALS AT EDGE
@giampiero.tagliaferri opens the doors to his new studio in Brera, originally designed by the BBPR group for a site specific exhibition. Tagliaferri invited curator @trulsblaasmo and gallerist @chiaruscon to collaborate and unveil a selection of works that reflect the trio’s shared universe and long-standing friendship, creating a direct dialogue between the historic architecture and contemporary creative practice.
The curated selection explores the limits of materiality—where surfaces stretch, fracture, puncture, and dissolve. By pairing 20th-century icons with emerging voices, the exhibition investigates how gesture, pressure, and gravity transform raw matter into meaningful expression.
works by Vanessa Beecroft • Simon Callery • Enrico Castellani • Lucio Fontana • Francesco Somaini • Jermay Michael Gabriel • Jannis Kounellis • Charlie Nesi • Olympia Scarry • Mario Sironi • Ettore Spalletti • Andy Warhol • François Durel • Francesco Vezzoli • Francis Picabia • Nathlie Provosty

For Milan Design Week, @giampiero.tagliaferri opens his new studio in Brera, set within a rare BBPR-designed apartment. Together with @chiaruscon , I’ve curated a site-specific exhibition exploring the dialogue between art and design.
Bringing together key figures of the 20th century and a younger generation, the works trace the point where material reaches its limits, where surface, gesture and pressure become expressive.

@TrulsBlaasmo sees curating as a way to spark dialogue. With a background that spans exhibitions, fashion collaborations, and immersive spatial storytelling, his work flows across disciplines. Whether he’s shaping narratives for global brands like #Gucci or creating exhibitions that feel more like emotional landscapes than static displays, Blaasmo approaches each project with a deep, intuitive sensitivity.
In our conversation, he shares what it means to curate through emotion, why authenticity has never been more essential, and how the curator’s role is evolving into something profoundly human. Read the full interview via the link in bio.
