Spotty was a total superstar during the recent filming of a short film called Traveller, which will be released next year. It’s a story of hope and connection through the bond with a horse, and a reconnection with nature. It’s going to be a beautiful film and I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s available to watch, hopefully early 2022! Big thanks to @cake_tin_innes for choosing Spotty for the role, and acting with him so incredibly sensitively! Also @scotwilliams , you were truly scary!!

/p/CTfLKBFN9bb/?utm_medium=copy_link The gorgeous Spotty will be turning his hoof to acting in a short film! Info is in the link in my profile, it’s a beautiful story which centers around a woman finding hope and connection when she bonds with a loose horse. Everything is ready to go - script / location / cast and crew, they just need a few more pennies to make it happen, so if you can, please click the link, read all about it, and support if you like it! @cake_tin_innes #appaloosa #naturalhorsemanship #horsefilm

Isn’t this boy just amazing?! To help him and his owner Adrian get to the final of a horsemanship contest we need your help - please vote for them via the link in my bio above. You’ll be able to watch their lovely video which shows the partnership they have, and if we get enough votes, to go to a final which will be judged by @pignondelgado @ben_actionhorses and @lindaparelli Please help them get there!!

Here’s a cool way to be able to take off your rope halter once you put the bridle on top! Magic!!

Zanti has learned so quickly to seek the bridle! I started off just offering him the bit with a treat and then letting him drop it, and progressed to him keeping his head down for the headpiece and now to him coming down to me at a seated level. All the positive reinforcement has really made him feel comfortable with the bridle, ready for when I ride in it. He’s such a lovely interactive horse, always checking in with me :) #dunhorsesofinstagram #bridling horse

Introducing Zanthus (Zanti), new member of our herd. He’s a 4 year old Irish sports horse and came over from Ireland a couple of weeks ago. He’s such a sweet horse and I’m looking forward to building a great partnership with him! So far he’s been really lovely and very interactive and willing to learn!

Great horsemen will often talk about a horse “thinking to his feet”, or the rider being able to influence the horse’s feet. Spotty and I tried a little challenge today to test this out . Using a pole we played with forwards and backwards over the pole, straddling the pole , sideways over the pole and finally straddling the pole lengthwise. It’s actually a very difficult exercise for your horse to remain calm and responsive. I think Spotty did amazingly! Have a go and Let me know how you get on. #appaloosasofinstagram #naturalhorsemanship #libertyhorsemanship #appaloosahorse #horsetraining #horsemanship

Had fun teaching Spotty this today- it’s all about the subtle communication of “go” and “whoa”. If your horse is acting as a partner and understands your communication things like this can be easier than you think! Also it’s good for the horse to think about his own balance as he needs to control his weight to do this. If you are Interested in a natural Horsemanship approach to the partnership with your horse and would like hands on help please get in touch(based Surrey). #appaloosasofinstagram #appaloosa #appaloosahorse #naturalhorsemanship #libertyhorse #libertyhorsemanship #barrelracing

Enjoying the Christmas Day sunshine with my wonderful equine partner- riding bridle-less is a true test of the partnership and trust with our horse. We have to have good enough balance to not rely on the reins, and our horse has to be thinking like a partner! This isn’t something you learn to do “per-se”, but more something that you will find you can do if you put the foundation blocks of your partnership in place! Hope you all had s great Christmas! #bridleless #ridingwithoutbridle #bridlelessriding #naturalhorsemanship #supercobs #cobsofinstagram
