These are some of the first photos I’ve shot on 35mm film. I took these a year ago, on my Yashica Electro 35 GSN, using Kodak Gold 200. I got them scanned and developed at Flats Film lab. I got the most basic scanning resolution, paid $31 for two rolls of film, but ngl I personally felt these came out a bit unsaturated and dull. I feel I lost a lot of detail when getting the lowest resolution. So I did edit them just slightly so that they would feel a bit sharper and more colorful (the edit was very minimal, hard to distinguish from the original but enough for me to feel a difference. Despite knowing I lost a good amount of detail because of the resolution I got it scanned at, the fact that it still feels pretty detailed makes me wonder how incredibly sharp this camera is when scanned at it’s highest resolution. As for the saturation idk if was the scan or not, cause I do feel like it might be the camera itself or the film I used (I’m leaning more towards the camera ). This however is actually kinda awesome cause I prefer the less saturated look for night time photography. Would like just a little bit more saturation when shooting in the daytime but it’s honestly fine the way it is. My final thoughts, I want to learn to scan a developed my on film so I can have more creative control of the final look. Since this camera is so sharp, I feel it’s only appropriate I utilize it’s best features to the best of my abilities and not take blurry images, so I might start using it with a tripod 90% of the time to avoid a blurry photo. I’m not an expert on film so this is all just my current opinion as of now, please let me know what you think and if you have any tips or suggestions, leave them in the comments below. we don’t talk anymore. like really talk. everybody’s somewhere but nobody’s present. you pull up to the function and it’s loud as hell but you leave feeling more empty than when you came. we substituting noise for connection and calling it a life. i want to LIVE. not just survive the week. not just make it to the weekend. actually live. but we in the club. i want to connect with somebody real. somebody who gon sit in the quiet with me and not feel like they gotta fill it. but everybody just want a body. everybody want something surface. the moment it get deep they ghost or they grab you and call that intimacy. i want to live but my vices feel better than my peace right now. i want to live but the bills due and i’m one check from a crisis so “living” feel like a luxury i can’t afford yet. i want to connect but the culture would rather we bleed each other out. would rather we pull up on each other than pull up for each other. we are so loud and so lost at the same time. tired of the function. tired of performing alright. tired of the small talk that goes nowhere with people who could’ve been everything if we just slowed down long enough to find out. i just want to live
