Conceptual Process:
In April 2024, while traveling to New York, I experienced a Seizure waking up in a hospital 5 hours later in New York City. As some friends say, I gave my first performance art glitch experience.
Although I’ve spent years skateboarding and snowboarding, I have never suffered a concussion or anything that could directly cause a seizure so this was very random to me.
Coming back from the trip I did some medical testing, including an MRI. My time stuck in a mechanical tube inspired me to create this piece. Focused on “Glitch Art” for the last 12 years, I visualized this physical experience and personification of a computer malfunction.
I could have seen this as an “ETERNAL” experience that defines who I am, but I see it as a moment that happened and to reflect “INTERNALLY” on.
Thus the title “Ɇ₮ɆⱤ₦₳Ⱡ -(INTERNAL) GLITCH”
with the piece conveying growth and creation through what could be seen as a destructive experience.
