Southern Mex with pops @kcschloot - he walked down the beach to shoot into this fickle and usually windy point break. On the versatile @inspiredshaper 5’5” fish! #mexico
Mainland Mex 2007 - Greg Russ and the OG crew, Enjoy. I remember I’d have to connect to wifi in the city center to Skype my family every week or so to let them know I was ok. We would go to the Internet cafes to check the Lola long range forecasts and eat at the pink lady’s on the corner. - I also remember Gerr telling the boogie he faded him cuz he knew he wouldn’t make it!! Good times
It was a special time to be down in mainland Mex. We were young and I was definitely dumb. Someone had a handy cam and we got these hilarious clips after a great day of surfing @hamley___@nilsers Absolutely Hilarious commentary from the late and great Greg Russ, we all miss him. Ended the day and the trip with one of my heaviest whiteouts to date. I wonder if that balsa board is still around??
Sometimes this wave lets you in easy sometimes not. This particular day, now more than 10 years ago was one of the more consistent days we have ever seen out there! Tide and direction must be perfect so it’s always special to get a session out there. —— I lost a computer a while back and thought I’d never see the photos again! Thankfully Brian @nicasurfshots had them saved and sent them over recently. I think @surfaricharters had just given birth to their second son so it was just a small crew of us paddling. Riding a @rchbrgsurf 6”3 quad
This is a what “not” to do post. 1 diving alone. 2 taking a long shot on what is presumably a much larger fish than I thought hence the long shot. 3 not clearing my float line before diving down or taking shot. I in fact “did NOT get one” but that’s probably a good thing seeing how much a mess my line was after. Lucky or stupid or both! But it was a good time!
Nicaragua never ceases to amaze me how beautiful of a country and how great the waves can be! 4 sessions a day being normal. Thank you so much to everyone @surfaricharters especially Lance and Kristin who make it all happen. So stoked to surf and hang with everybody! Obviously must thank my amazing wife @nataliaalfonzo for giving me a hall pass and watching Griff for 2 weeks! #SUBU #graciasadios #popoyo
By far the most magical day of our lives.

our Griffin Alfonso Schloot🩵was born
and I want to never forget this moment.
Love at first sight.
We are praising God for this healthy beautiful boy and a smooth delivery! Truly can’t believe he’s here and he’s ours 🥹 my heart is exploding with love.
You can never be fully prepared for the intensity of birth. How consuming it is mentally and physically. I’d close my eyes and feel the release of my own self into tiny million pieces with each contraction.
My everlasting gratitude to all the love I have received from my husband. Thank you to our doula Sofija who carried us to having the most “out of this world” experience a human can have🩵 i couldn’t have done any of it without those hip squeezes @in_joy_birth
Birth Box labor prep and meditations from @popthatmumma
Isla Todos Santos - Dec 2024 - great to see that part of Mexico and get to chase a swell with friends! It’s always nuts to see waves this size and the mission out to the island makes it even more radical. Thank you to @moralesedwin for the videos
This was @surfaricharters Lance Moss and I’s most dialed in season. His patience to wait for the best waves of sessions was unmatched and something I could have never done. I believe we were still using a Yamaha 2 stroke as our vehicle. I can’t recall who filmed, most likely Kristin Moss our fearless leader. Maybe we will have another season like with one day! SUBU!!!
Not one of my most intelligent moments, thinking I could grab onto a monster Manta Rey! My family was in town and we went fishing and found this manta swimming so I decided to jump in! It wasn’t happy. We both swam away unharmed :)
