In 2001, we launched the world’s first degree in dance science. A quarter century later, this symposium celebrates the people, ideas, and collaborations that have shaped the field — through intellectual curiosity, interdisciplinary dialogue, creative risk-taking, and a shared commitment to advancing dance science in meaningful and applied ways.
Call for Abstracts is now open We welcome research, clinical, and practice-based contributions reflecting the depth and diversity of dance science.

Yesterday, our MSc/MFA cohort had the amazing opportunity to visit the biomechanics lab at Kingston University to explore 3D motion capture and isokinetic dynamometry with Dr. James Brouner (@jbrouner11 ) as part of their Movement and Technique Analysis elective!
Joined by some of our BSc3 students, our students spent the day out playing with the kit and exploring techniques to examine movement and understand isolated muscular force 💪

What our MSc/MFA students get up to in our Foundations in Performance Science module! 🕺👩💻
Watch our students getting creative experimenting in different dance genres and playing around with our tech and analysis software. This module provides a multidisciplinary understanding of the body and brain’s fundamental mechanisms and processes to explain dance practice and performance across different contexts and stages of life.
We love to see our students being self-directed and learning in their own time while cheering each other on!

We had a great time last week welcoming @musischesgymnasium.sbg back for their annual visit to Trinity Laban. It was a pleasure to share our dance science practices with their dancers, exchange ideas, and to see the students having fun trying out different fitness tests.
