What did I do to deserve this experience? I am overwhelmed by the joy and meaning that Fraggle Rock has brought into my life these last months. ❤️ Thank you to the @hensoncompany for the opportunity to spread creativity with the most dedicated and talented group of people I know. Johnny, learning puppetry from someone whom I’ve admired since I was 2 years old has been the greatest gift I could imagine. Quick appreciation post for the most special character that I’ve ever had the opportunity of working with ♥️ Growing up, I dreamed of playing someone’s comfort character, so bringing hundreds of people’s comfort character (including my own family’s) to life in their hometowns has quite literally been that dream come true. I see both myself and who I want to be in Red. She has taught me confidence, determination, humility, open-mindedness, and many other lessons I will take with me into my next chapter.
I had the privilege of meeting Red’s original puppeteer, Karen Prell, during rehearsals. We discussed the passion and vision she’s had for Red since first filming with Jim Henson. Just like Red, she is a ball of energy and creativity. I will forever hold her kind words and inspirational advice in my heart. It’s been an honor to be a small part of her Fraggle Rock legacy. Karen, your work will forever be my artistic inspiration.
Thank you, Red, for everything you’ve taught me. And thank you for being my best friend and very own comfort character these last six months. You have been the greatest gift. Hope to twirl and dive with you again soon, my Little Red. ❣️
