As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series we would like to introduce Irene de Lezcano-Mujica Gonzalez, a Principal Fire Engineer in our London Office: 🔥 What sparked your interest in engineering? My mother and cousin are engineers, and I could see that as an area where I could make a difference too. My cousin sold me into the idea of dam design which would allow me to work, and have a positive impact, in developing countries. In reality, I went from ‘Water’ to ‘Fire’, but that started my journey into engineering. 🔥 What is one of your proudest achievements at Trigon so far? While being at Trigon I have become a Chartered Fire Engineer and have become involved in two BSI drafting committees, BS 9994 and BS 9996. 🔥 What is your favourite book? One of my favourite books (I have many!) is 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss. #FireEngineering #FireSafety #MeetOurTeam #WeAreTrigon

London Welsh Rugby Club brings the Fire, we bring the Safety! Team Trigon Fire Safety were very proud to sponsor the London Welsh Minis and Youth teams on their rugby tour to sunny Frankfurt/Germany this bank holiday weekend. The hospitality from SC Frankfurt 1880 e.V. was excellent, as was the weather, which created the perfect conditions for running rugby - and topping up the tan! London Welsh took 3 age groups - U10s, U12s and U14s - numbering almost 100 kids and a similar number of parents in total. Our very own Victoria Paisley was one of the tourists, and by all accounts the boys and girls all performed admirably over the two tournament days, with special mention going to the two U14s teams who came 2nd and 3rd in the final standings. We're especially proud that, thanks to our sponsorship, so many families were able to make the trip and act as magnificent ambassadors for both their brilliant rugby club - and Trigon. Congratulations to all involved! #londonwelsh #grassrootsrugby #LWfamily #partnership #makingadifference #communityrugby #sportforgood #WeAreTrigon

Trigon collaborated with @karakuseviccarsonarchitects to deliver the fire safety strategy for The Steyne Estate — a major regeneration scheme providing 188 mixed-tenure, low-carbon homes, alongside new community spaces and enhanced landscaping around the existing Moreton and Rufford towers. Our team developed a comprehensive fire safety strategy for the site and three residential blocks, including a Fire Statement to support consultation with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). We also undertook a Qualitative Design Review for the residential tower exceeding 50m in height, addressing the complexities associated with tall buildings. You can read more about this project on our website: /projects/steyne-estate-ealing #Proudproject #Residential #Homes #LowCarbon #Community #MixedUse #TallBuildings #SteyneEstate #Ealing #London #WeAreTrigon

Our very own Karl Wallasch attended today’s NLA Tall Buildings Conference 2026 which took place at One Leadenhall in London.   Very interesting presentations and discussions about trends in the London Tall Building market, bringing together industry leaders to discuss what’s shaping the next phase of high-rise development in London.   The importance of Fire Safety in Tall Buildings was mentioned a few times. This applies to new development as well as refurbishments, retrofit or repurposing of tall buildings. The conference also celebrated the launch of the London Tall Buildings Survey 2026. As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series we would like to introduce Freya Stewart Grant, a Graduate Fire Engineer in our London Office: 🔥 What does ‘people’ in Trigon's core values mean to you? "Social sustainability is one of the three pillars of sustainability. Therefore, when I think of ‘people’, I think of how our work helps to promote sustainability by reducing the social impact of fire on communities." 🔥 What sparked your interest in engineering? "At university I studied Physics with a large focus on Theoretical Physics and, while I enjoyed my studies, I found it challenging that my work had no tangible outcome. I therefore began looking for a field where I could use my technical knowledge while also being able see the direct impact of my work. This led me to pursuing a career in building design and construction and I have never looked back!" 🔥 What do you enjoy doing outside of work? "Outside of work I pursue many creative hobbies. I am a keen knitter and enjoy designing and making my own clothes with a focus on slow, sustainable fashion. I am also a keen yogi and find that my regular practice centres and grounds me while also challenging me to learn new skills." Team Trigon Fire Safety is proud to be working with Ramboll, Stanton Williams and an entire design team on the Fleming Centre for St Mary’s Hospital in London. Plans for a major new research and public engagement centre on the St Mary’s Hospital site in Paddington have been approved by Westminster City Council’s Planning Committee. The planning application will now be referred to the Mayor of London for sign-off. The Fleming Centre will be the headquarters of the Fleming Initiative, a joint partnership between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London. It will be the first in a planned global network of centres working to tackle the increasing, global threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Gavin Henderson, Principal Director, Stanton Williams, said: “We are delighted that The Fleming Centre has received unanimous planning approval. Working on this project of global significance for humanity is a unique privilege. Our radical transformation of these historic warehouses creates a suitably bold identity for the ambitious vision of this important new institution, while retaining a vital link to the community’s past.” Check out this link: https://lnkd.in/e6jfDgN4 #planning #FlemingCentre #NHS #ImperialCollegeLondon

Our very own Karl Wallasch attended the 16th Society of Fire Protection Engineers (#SFPE) Fire Safety Conference on Performance-Based Design in Singapore from 15-17 April 2026. The conference provided an excellent global opportunity to address current and future trends in building and fire regulatory systems, the contribution of fire protection engineers to innovative design solutions, and the latest developments in fire modelling, risk assessment and analysis in support of those solutions and their approvals. Karl attended a panel discussion led by Brian Meacham and other experts from South Africa, Italy, NZ and US. He also presented the one of our completed projects 15 Old Bailey Hotel in London where the application of performance-based design supported the overall fire safety for an Adaptive Use application for a listed and heritage building. Karl says: "It was a privilege and honor to participate in this conference and meet many peers and stakeholders from our global fire safety community. Learning from other experts, countries and cultures is always a special experience. I look forward to the next PBD Conference in Toronto in 2028!" #SFPE #SFPEUK #SFPEEurope #SFPE2026 #PerformanceBased #FireEngineering #FireScience #FireResearch #AdaptiveUse #Networking #Singapore
