Since 2025, I've been referring to myself as "Newcastle's Joker", going to events and conventions as the Clown Prince of Crime in Sydney, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, and the Central Coast. I always go to the big conventions in Sydney like Oz Comic-Con and Supanova, but I also go to smaller events like Central Coast Comicon, Lake Mac Pop Bam, and more recently, Newy-Con (part of the Newcastle Show). I went to my first convention with my girlfriend in 2024, which was Oz Comic-Con in Sydney. Over the span of a year, I've commissioned different pieces to a closely screen-accurate Heath Ledger Joker outfit. The outfit itself was made by MB Apparel in Charlestown (responsible for the purple coat, grey blazer and green vest) and Magnoli Clothiers from New Zealand (responsible for the purple trousers, hexagon shirt, purple gloves, brown tie and checker socks). I do my own makeup each time I dress up as the Joker, including face, hair and scars. I occasionally make my own alterations to the Joker outfit. My favourite parts of cosplay have to be walking around as the Joker at conventions and meeting like-minded people within the cosplay community. Another thing I like about cosplay is participating in photoshoots, a great way for me to showcase my Joker cosplay. When in public as the Joker, I get a lot of "whoa's" and "wows" from people with my clown makeup and colourful attire, which tells me I'm a very convincing Joker. Not only that, I can naturally do the voice, which I think adds more to my Joker aesthetic, even if it's not necessary. Overall, I enjoy cosplaying and embodying the Joker.
