Wat vijf jaar geleden begon als een intieme clubnacht, groeide uit tot een van de vaste ankerpunten van onze ADE. (English) Next Friday marks the end of a special chapter: the final edition of @tribesnl will take place at Paradiso. What began as an intimate club night five years ago, has grown into one of the main fixtures of our ADE. We spoke with @dj.weslee , one of the two founders, about the story behind Tribes, what the past years have meant to him, and how he envisions the grand finale on Friday, October 24. What started as a joint effort between @cloud8_events and @ziongatenl to spread African Electronic music post COVID grew into a showcase. A showcase of African Music, Culture, Talent, Fashion, and community. @tribesnl has become a breeding ground for the best Africa has to offer, a ritual where you are able to lose yourself to the ancestral drums of Afrohouse, shake to the wrecking baselines of Amapiano, sweat to the intensity of Gqom, and discover new interpretations of sounds through Kuduro, Batida, and everything in between. Tribes has been a temple to Black Culture. To the many Amazing Artists that have graced the stage over the last couple years we thank you for bringing everything you had and leaving it all on the dancefloor.
