Started the week with back to back meetings lined up. Multiple wellness events are officially locked down for @lechappeeparis this month with some exciting cultural events soon to be announced!

Lately… create, move, connect

So we tried (and didn’t succeed) launching a Kickstarter campaign, now what? Firstly we have been so encouraged by all the feedback, encouragement, pledges, posts, numerous offers to help on other ways and proposals to host events at @lechappeeparis so while this is a bit of a setback, it’s by no means a defeat. As I’ve shared with a couple of my closest friends, the biggest take away from this experience is that so many people believe in us, what we’ve built, and want to see this community flourish. We are all so excited about the new connections and experiences we’ve already been able to have in the space without the work being finished. So there is only more fun and more joy to look forward to, like last weekends collab with New Balance and KIIN! We are brainstorming what path to take next, and how to honor each person who has come alongside us, so stay tuned! In the meantime, we have a bunch of community events already lined up at @lechappeeparis so please come join if you’re able. Up next: Thursday night vernissage hosted by the amazingly talented couple behind @kingdom.anywhere and @souvenirmagazineparis Sunday funday with @we.are.kiin for a post run and @lepelotoncyclingclub ride gathering including a DJ set by our friend @panniorfiba

New beginnings, innovation, leadership, freedom, healing, community, and abundant joy: This is my vision for @lechappeeparis 💕 I’ve joined forces Paul and our longtime friends Christian and Nadine to open this extension of @lepelotoncafe . This space will enable us to create new opportunities for community far beyond our current reach of shared passions for coffee, cycling, and a general love of Paris. We are expanding our walls with the opening of L’Échappée in order to cultivate moments of connection through a variety of events. I’m particularly excited about taking part in small group discussions, health and wellness programs, cultural events, and moments of celebration, just to name a few. This project has been 1.5 years in the making (not to mention I first dreamt of taking over this space back in 2019!), during one of the most challenging years for us all. I for one am so fortunate to have been carried through this last year by a number of friends whom I met through the cafe. We’ve all come out on the other side even more committed to this vision and a deep belief in the power and legacy of fostering meaningful relationships. We’re so close to this dream becoming reality, but we can’t do it on our own. We launched a Kickstarter to invite our friends, family, and extended community to join us in fully bringing this vision to life. Well deserved treat making the trek for a much need flatwhite after 4 days of grueling coursework in French and physical training for a certification program with my new job. To think I could barely stay awake for 3 consecutive hours just over a month ago!

So much has happened over the last 10-12 months that it feels quite surreal to be on the other side of the most challenging of times that I could not have gotten through without the tremendous support of some extraordinary friends (you know who you are)…but more on that later. What I want to celebrate in this post is a new beginning. This year began with a brand new job in which I am thriving and a vision I had back in 2019 quickly becoming a reality: L’Échappée 20+ years building friendship, raising our kids together, fostering community, and supporting the growth of @lepelotoncafe , I’ve partnered with @nadine_breebaart @christianosburnparis and Paul to launch @lechappeeparis We envision a space where our community will not only expand in numbers, but also grow in strength and a sense of belonging around shared meals, cultural activities, health and wellness classes, as well as cycling and coffee events. I personally envision running events close to my heart: book clubs, candlelit evenings (if you know, you know), mom’s groups, and collaborating with professionals who can provide training in injury prevention, recovery, and mental health support. In order to cross the finish line and open the doors at L’Échappée we’ve launched a Kickstarter to invite our friends, family, and extended community to join us in bringing this vision to life. Looking back on 2025, the most challenging year I’ve ever lived through, there were so many moments of unbridled joy in the first half of the year that kept the the really tough times at bay. I’ve been keeping a gratitude journal thanks to the advice of a dear friend, recording these moments on paper, but the visuals have a power that speak for themselves.

The true light is shining and the darkness has not overcome it. Walking towards 2026 radically grounded in this truth, supported by those who’ve stood by my side in the obscurity and yet never lost sight of the light that they see and celebrate in me. The happiest of holidays are experienced when the sense of belonging, celebration, offering, and connection comes from a place of abundance and surrender. Blessed to have celebrated Christmas yet again with this chosen family

Remembering today of all days that in the midst of such tragedy, that there is so much to be abundantly grateful for.. even just this last month: Friends who have crossed continents to sit by my side, hold me, laugh with me, spoil my kids like my late aunt would have wanted, brought so much fun and silliness even on the hardest days, been our village and chosen family, and spoken healing and joy into our lives.
