The original boombox mural was first painted in 2010 by Argentine artist @sonni as part of Wynwood’s early street art movement. After it was painted over, Miami artist @trek6 teamed up with artists #ishmael @chorboogie001 in 2012 to bring it back to life, inspired by Miami bass culture, old-school hip hop, and the energy of the city. Over time, the mural evolved into “Everlasting Bass,” becoming one of Wynwood’s most recognizable landmarks and a symbol of Miami’s street art scene.

Always grateful when people go to visit #everlastingbass which was painted by myself and #ishmael. But sometimes we get a visit from someone that hits a bit different. After his @drinkchamps visit @fab5freddy and the #crazyhood crew dropped by .. Fab 5 was our Walter kronkite , when I was young his interviews and exposure of hip hop culture gave many a window into what was happening in that community. He was there with @basquiatofficial and @keithharingfoundation at the genisis of the culture .. to have him and @davidbyrneofficial both give this mural its respects to me means so much as it really gives a nod from that generation in NYC .

After we wrapped filming with the legendary @fab5freddy , we had to bring him by the Crazy Hood landmark in Wynwood and grab this flick in front of the iconic Everlasting Bass boombox by our bro @trek6 . Real hip-hop, real art, real history all in one frame.
I can’t tell you how honored and lucky I feel to be able to chop it up with these legends, pioneers and icons of the culture! 🫡

Thank you everyone for all the prayers and wishes . I just got home and the surgery went as smoothly as possible, and now it’s recovery time. My surgeon at #missionhospital #orthotrauma drkaufman is amazing and even though he pulled my whole arm out of my body rebuilt and rebuilt it I’m home already. The nerve block wears off soon and the real fun begins but while I’m still sedated and relatively pain free I wanted to just say thank you to everyone here on IG rooting for me.
