Not easy to photograph with a prime 50mm lens in the city, but when it works, it works. Ortho film is also getting to be a favorite for fully sunlit scenes.

One very cold (-10C) winter day a few years back, I found myself at a place where they train dogs’ shepherding skills. I can’t say I’m thrilled about the exploitation of sheep for this purpose. It’s always a struggle to balance my rather radical (by mainstream standards) animal liberation views and being confronted by such practices through personal relations. How do you stay true to your convictions without completely alienating everyone?
