Thanks to @homegrownradionj for their review of Gargantua by @tredicibacci if you haven’t heard it yet, Monday’s a great time to start. Check it out on our Bandcamp page.
Couldn’t be more pleased to see the explosive @tredicibacci featured in today’s @nytimes in a beautiful article by Walker Mimms about Simon’s Gargantua out now on pyro! All proud and blushing and happy to see this great music get some love in a paper of record
It’s here! Release day for Simon Hanes’ aptly titled Gargantua! He’s on his way to @bigearsfestival right now to blow minds but you don’t have to get on a plane to get your face melted. You can just go to our Bandcamp page and make it happen.

At Big Ears this year? So are we! Pyroclastic Records is out in full force in Knoxville in 2026 with live performances of three of our most recent releases. You can catch shows by Brandon Seabrook and Ned Rothenberg on Friday evening, Patricia Brennan’s septet plays on Saturday, and Simon Hanes’ Gargantua performs Sunday night right on the heels of their debut release! Other Pyro artists such as Ches Smith, Marilyn Crispell, and Mary Halvorson will, of course, be ranging about the mean streets of Knoxville as well. But want to meet some folks? Maybe have them sign a cd you can take home and impress your friends with? Simon and Patricia will be at the Pyro booth at the label fair to help you out. And while you’re there, you can indulge your inner completist and pick up those releases are somehow still missing in your collection. See you there!
On March 27 daredevil composer/arranger/bandleader Simon Hanes @tredicibacci unleashes GARGANTUA, his epic new recording of bombastic extremes for a large ensemble consisting of three drum sets, three electric basses, three trombones, three french horns, and three voices. This @pyroclasticrecords album is inspired by the work of 16th-century novelist François Rabelais.
